Chicken Soup for the Teacher's Soul
Inspirational Quotes, Notes, & Anecdotes That Honor Teachers and Teaching
Over the course of first semester, we were required to read a book related to education. I chose the book Chicken Soup for the Teacher's Soul. The book was a collection of short stories written by teachers. The book was aimed to open the hearts and rekindle the spirits of educators. Story topics included everything from why people chose to become teachers to overcoming obstacles when teaching to going above and beyond the normal classroom teacher. After we finished our independent reading book, we created a quadrama that showed our understanding of the book.
Over the course of second semester, we were required to read a book related to education. I chose the book Inspirational Quotes, Notes, and Anecdotes. There were quotes and notes on topics from education, students, teaching, teachers, and tributes and testimonials. My favorite quote was from Susan Soares, a teacher in Rhode Island, "I feel as though teaching is 10 percent inspiration and 90 percent divine call". I believe this is true because teaching is not an easy job and it takes a real passion and calling to teach.
